  • Discoloration Defense: Multi-phase serum formulated to reduce the appearance of multiple types of discoloration, including stubborn brown patches.
  • Retinol 0.5: Pure, highly concentrated retinol in a stabilized delivery system that visibly improves the appearance of skin discolorations, uneven tone, and fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50: Broad spectrum sunscreen with a universal tint to enhance natural skin tone and help protect against damaging UVA/UVB rays for brighter, more radiant skin.

How To Use

SkinCeuticals Brightening Skin System is a four-product regimen that targets stubborn discolorations and delivers smoother, more even-toned skin.

In the morning:

PREVENT

After cleansing and toning, apply 4-5 drops of Phloretin CF® to face, neck and chest, avoiding contact with eyes. Allow the product to be absorbed completely.

CORRECT

Apply 3-5 drops of Discoloration Defense* to dry face. Avoid contact with eyes and lips.

If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Allow the product to be absorbed completely.

PROTECT

Following usage directions on the product label, apply a liberal amount of Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF 50 to face, neck and chest.

In the evening:

CORRECT

Apply 3-5 drops of Discoloration Defense* to dry face. Avoid contact with eyes and lips.

If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water. Allow the product to be absorbed completely.

CORRECT

Apply a pea-sized amount of Retinol 0.5** to a dry face, carefully avoiding eyes and lips.

IMPORTANT: Follow instructions below:

When using Retinol 0.5 and Discoloration Defense together, a 2- to 3-week Retinol 0.5 acclimation period is recommended before introducing Discoloration Defense as part of the regimen. Do not apply Discoloration Defense on the broken or irritated skin. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

Begin by applying Retinol 0.5 once or twice per week and gradually increase frequency to every other night as tolerated. Consult your skincare professional for a personalized dosage schedule. You may experience mild tingling or redness, which is a normal sensation and what dermatologists call, retinization. It is temporary as your skin adapts to Retinol 0.5 and usually subsides after 2 to 3 weeks.

If irritation develops and lasts, stop use and ask your doctor. Continue using a broad-spectrum sunscreen for 1 week after discontinuing use of Retinol 0.5.

As a precaution, retinol products should not be used by pregnant women or women who intend to become pregnant in the near future. Though there are no reports of topical retinol having any negative effect on fetal development, some problems have been reported with ingested retinoic acid.
